Resort-by-Resort Analysis

Conrad Maldives Rangali Island — The Famous Two-Island Resort

The Conrad is the most famous resort in the Maldives — it’s the one with Ithaa Undersea Restaurant (dining surrounded by a coral reef underwater) and an island structure split between two islands (Rangali and Rangalifinolhu) connected by a 500-meter jetty.

Why it stands out: Ithaa is a literal bucket-list experience. The variety of overwater and beach villa types, plus the sheer scale of the property, makes it the go-to “I need to see this” Maldives resort. It’s the most famous.

The trade-off: Size (150+ villas) means it’s a proper resort — not the intimate, quiet experience smaller properties offer. Some travelers find the scale overwhelming.

Points value: 95,000–130,000 Hilton Honors per night. At ~$2,000/night cash, 130,000 points = 1.5¢/point — good but not exceptional by Hilton standards.

Verdict: Best for the Instagram experience and bucket-list check. Not the best pure value.

Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa — Best Points Value in the Maldives

Park Hyatt Hadahaa is located on Gaafu Alifu Atoll — one of the southernmost and most remote atolls in the Maldives, accessible by 45-minute domestic flight. This remoteness is a feature:

  • Only 42 villas (intimate, quiet)
  • Some of the best diving in the Maldives (the atoll’s pristine reefs are legendary)
  • Minimal light pollution, extraordinary star gazing
  • Award pricing: 28,000–55,000 Hyatt points/night

Points value: 28,000 off-peak points against $800+ cash = exceptional 2.5–3¢+ per point. This is the best pure points-per-value Maldives redemption available.

The trade-off: Remoteness means it’s a destination in itself — you’re not popping to Malé for dinner. The resort dining is good but limited.

Verdict: Best choice for divers, honeymooners, and travelers who want true escape. Best CPP in the Maldives by a significant margin.

St. Regis Maldives Vommuli — The Most Aspirational

If Maldives resorts were ranked by pure design and opulence, St. Regis Vommuli is at or near the top:

  • Enormous private pool villas (the entry-level Water Villa is 200+ sqm)
  • The Deep platform experience (an underwater observatory with a shark feeding area)
  • Personal butler service on every villa
  • Two main restaurants plus bar and in-villa dining
  • Located on Dhaalu Atoll, 35 minutes from Malé by seaplane

Points value: 100,000–150,000 Bonvoy against $2,000–$4,000+ cash = 1.3–2.6¢/point. Moderate Bonvoy value but justified by the experience level.

Verdict: The most impressive resort if you have enough Bonvoy points. Best for travelers who want the ultimate Maldives statement.

Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort — Best Budget Bonvoy Pick

On Full Moon Island (10 minutes from Malé Airport by speedboat), Sheraton Full Moon is excellent value:

  • Closest resort to Malé (no seaplane required — a logistical and cost advantage)
  • 176 villas across all categories — genuinely large
  • Strong children’s facilities for families
  • Points: 50,000–70,000 Bonvoy vs. $400–$800 cash

Verdict: Best Bonvoy value in the Maldives. No seaplane transfer fees (~$300–$600 round-trip that other resorts charge). Good for families or travelers on a tighter points budget who still want overwater bungalow access.

The Winning Strategy

  • Best CPP: Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa (Hyatt)
  • Best experience per dollar: Park Hyatt or St. Regis
  • Best for families: Sheraton Maldives Full Moon (Bonvoy)
  • Best bucket-list: Conrad Maldives (Hilton)
  • Best overall: Park Hyatt for points-optimized travelers who want quality and value

Resort pricing reflects typical June 2026 range. All Maldives resorts have dynamic pricing; rates vary significantly by season.
